Adobe v. Apple - the fight goes on
We've been following the current spat between software giant Adobe Systems and Steve Jobs' Apple Corporation closely; many of Aerta's websites include Adobe Flash animation files - a platform Jobs is convinced is past its sell-by date. So sure is Apple's charismatic CEO that Adobe's flagship animation/video software is yesterday's news that he's refusing to support it on the best-selling iPhone, and the new Apple iPad tablet, available from May.

Internet Explorer 6 - time to upgrade
As of April, 2010, Aerta website designs no longer support Internet Explorer 6. This really is outdated technology (IE 7 and 8 are solidly established, and IE 9 is just around the corner), and ensuring website compatibility is very time-consuming and costly. While roughly 9% of users (mostly caught up in corporate IT systems) still use Microsoft's 2001 browser, both Google and YouTube intend withdrawing support for IE6 very soon. New customers who feel they need IE6 compatibility for their website should ensure to include this requirement in their initial brief.

Welsh television and stage actor Phyl Harries approached Aerta to design a website showcasing his extensive career. The site, which contains highlight clips of Phyl's television appearances and voicover work, can be seen here.

| Collegium Musicum of London Chamber Choir
Chamber Choir Collegium Musicum of London's website, built in 2004, was beginning to show its age. Aerta set about redesigning the site in PHP. The site includes many sound files of the choir's work. See the new site here.

| Kate Pullinger
Pulling all the various strands of writer KatePullinger's award-winning work together into one website was a substantial design and programming job, achieved through Expression Engine technology, using PHP and MySQL.
The result is a versatile, expandable website over which Kate has complete editing control.

Writer and mythographer Marina Warner was one of Aerta's earliest clients, her original site dating from 2000. This year saw a substantial rebuild of her site, incorporating Expression Engine technology, allowing Marina complete control of content management via a comprehensive online editing facility.
