
Every site designed by aerta is optimised for search engines, and then submitted to them at regular intervals. Whilst there is no way that inclusion in the rankings can be guaranteed - apart from taking out a sponsored link with the major search engines - carefully chosen keywords, descriptions and meta-tags can greatly enhance your chances.
Search engines seek out sites after they have been submitted for consideration, and sites must be constructed to cater to their electronic 'spiders'. To this end, images are given alternative tags, hidden in the coding. Titles and copy are adjusted to show that the site is exactly as it says it is - and not something else entirely!
Aerta usually discourages a client's sole reliance on search engine ranking to publicise their sites, as inclusion is very much an imprecise art. Rather, the site's details should be included in all printed publicity materials, stationery, business cards etc., and within an email address and its accompanying communications.
